Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
Whether your motorcycle is in pristine condition or needs some TLC, we accept all types. Even if it’s not running, it can still be transformed into something valuable for charity.
Title Issues
Donating your motorcycle requires a signed title with the odometer reading. If you’ve lost your title, reach out to us; we can guide you through the steps of obtaining a duplicate.
Storage and Pickup Logistics
We offer free pickup services for your motorcycle, whether it's in your garage, a storage unit, or parked in front of your home. Just let us know the details, and we’ll handle the rest.
Title transfer & paperwork
In Indiana, transferring the title of your motorcycle is crucial for a smooth donation process. You’ll need to fill out the appropriate sections of the Indiana title, which requires your signature and the odometer reading. No notarization is necessary for the title transfer, but it must be signed over to Indy Car Connect. Don’t forget to remove your license plate; you’ll need to return it to the Indiana DMV. We can assist you with any specific forms you may need.
Tax deduction for this donation
When you donate your motorcycle, you may be eligible for a tax deduction based on its fair market value. This typically ranges from $500 to $5,000, depending on the condition and type of the motorcycle. Remember to ask for your 1098-C receipt when you donate, as it’s essential for your tax filing!
Local context — Indianapolis
Indianapolis is a vibrant hub of motorcycle enthusiasts, thanks in part to its wide roads and a culture that embraces freedom on two wheels. Many donations come from individuals downsizing or relocating, especially in neighborhoods like Broad Ripple, where residents are often upgrading to larger vehicles or moving to urban areas. Others may have faced divorce or life changes that necessitate letting go of beloved bikes. Whatever the reason, your donation will resonate with others who share a passion for the ride.
